mexico: day 1.

just hours after school got out for the summer, we were in the car headed to mexico.  we don't mess around.

the first morning we were there, the kids were already out and about hunting for crabs and their first victim was a strange looking blue crab.  jonah was instantly obsessed with "crabbies" and all he wanted to do was sit and stare at them.  the rest of the day was spent swimming and hanging out on our bay front property.  there were also a few golf cart rides around the neighborhood and to the market.  the golf cart is also another one of jonah's obsessions.  the word "ride" is repeated at least a hundred times a day and most often we would find jonah just sitting on the golf cart waiting for someone to give him a ride.  he is all boy and i love it.

it was a nice relaxing first day in mexico with family and great way to kick off our summer vacation.  we sure do love this place...especially when it's warm out ;)  (remember our last trip.  it was freezing and we had no hot water.  not fun.)

graduations.

******

we had a few graduates this year.  eden graduated from her first year of preschool.  she was so excited. like disneyland excited.  she kept asking for days when her graduation was.  she personally invited our favorite neighbor, mia, to come watch her.  and of course mia came because her and eden and have this special little bond that is the cutest little thing.  anyway, eden graduated and i think it was one of her favorite days thus far.

ava graduated from kindergarten.  she and her fellow kindergartners put on a show with end of the year songs that were pretty dang cute.  some of them were even tear jerkers.  then she said her goodbyes to  some of her classmates and to her teacher, miss peluso, who she already misses dearly.  she is a really great teacher and we were so lucky to have her for jack and ava.  ava loved going to school everyday because she knew she was going to get to spend it with this special lady.

okay, enough of school... on to summer!

we have some pretty sweet trips coming up this summer.  we are actually calling this summer the summer of road trips because we will spending a lot of our days traveling in the car to some really cool places :)  stay tuned.

sunday afternoon at the jacobson's | polaroids.

a couple of sunday's ago we took the kids over to our old side of town, tempe.  jason and i both grew up there....me my whole childhood and jason his teenage years.  jason's aunt and uncle still live there and we like to go visit them because there nice and they have a kid friendly backyard.  it was a great afternoon.  the kids ran around the backyard talking to the horses and picking fruit off all their trees.  some for them and some for the horses.  the fresh fruit was delicious and the kids got a lesson on how to cut grapefruit.  who knew our visit would be educational too.  then uncle sonny/grandpa jacobson won all the kids over his snow cone maker.  they kept coming back for seconds and thirds and even fourths. there would've been fifths but i had to cut them off at some point.  when it was time to go, nobody wanted to leave.  jonah just sat on the riding lawn mower and kept saying "ride" until we had to pry his little body from it and the other ones kept running away from us.  after leaving their wonderful home,  it made me long for life on a ranch.  at least we always have one to go visit ;)

mother's day.

mother's day 2013.

since father's day is just a few days away, i thought i better get my mother's day post done.  i can't believe mother's day was over a month ago.  time flies.  i am such a lucky mom.  i have the best kids and they make me feel loved each and every day.  they have put up with a pretty crazy mom these past three and half months while i've been in nursing school.  and you know what, even though i haven't been mom of the year and even had to neglect them a time or two to study for a test, they still love me unconditionally.  that's pretty incredible.  they are why i love being a mom.  they make me want to be a better person and i just hope that in return i can love them back and be the best example to them that i can be.

on mother's day, they gave me the most awesome homemade cards and gifts.  they also said some very kind things to me that put a smile on my face.  seriously, these kids make my day and life would be pretty miserable without them...even though i do wish some days they could magically disappear for a few hours so i can clean my house but i know one of these days when they are all grown up and off living their own lives, i will be wishing they were back in my house making messes and running around like a bunch of crazies.

swimming at the diamondbacks game.

take me out to the ball game.... as long as a swimming pool is involved right on the outfield with endless amounts of hot dogs and drinks.  ummmmm i've decided this is the best way to watch a baseball game especially when you have kids.

we were lucky enough to have the chance to swim in the diamondbacks swimming pool for a night thanks to jason's work for renting it out for the evening.  my kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.  they literally swam for six hours straight only to take food and bathroom breaks.  it was pretty amazing.  and to top it off, they were on national tv for a couple of seconds.  jack now thinks he is famous.  we had such an incredible night.  i have to say, we will remember this one forever.  thanks academy mortgage!!
