spring break in the snow.

we woke up to a very white wonderland on our first day up north.  there were deer running through the meadow.  it was like a dream or something.  the kids were loving it all (and the adults as well).  our snow day consisted of snow ball fights, a warm breakfast of french toast and bacon, some very cold wet hands, snowman building, sledding, at least a hundred changes of clothes to snow clothes and snow clothes back to clothes again, sledding, zip lining, sitting by the warm fire, laughing with cousins,  and a hot bath to end the day.  we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

snow!

since nursing school is sucking the life out of me and we couldn't take a real spring break vacation, we decided at the last minute to take a mini weekend trip up north.  we rented this adorable cozy cabin outside of payson and when we arrived it was SNOWING!  my kids didn't know what to do with themselves.  jack's instance response was to pull out his ipod and document the moment (just like his mama).  ava immediately began playing in it and eden and jonah stood back and stared at the beautiful falling snow.  it really was dreamy.  all i can say is i wish we would have packed a few extra pairs of snow gloves.  the kids learned real fast that snowballs are COLD.

stay tuned for our next day in the snow....

jonah's birthday party.

we had a quiet little family party to celebrate jonah turning two (which was over two weeks ago but thanks to nursing school i am falling behind on the blogging thing).  i made him a chocolate cake with chocolate sprinkles that he kind of sort of picked out.  it turns out that he isn't even much of a cake fan.  all he wanted was ice cream. he thoroughly enjoys that stuff.  i think he ate his weight in ice cream which we let him because he was the birthday boy.  he really likes trucks, books, trains, and pirates.  so he got book about a blue truck and train set that winds through a pirate ship.  oh, and a plasma car that has boyish colors.  he kept stealing his sisters' that are pink and yellow.  now, he can ride around in his stylish boy looking one.  (yay.)  happy birthday jones! (again.)
