jonah's third birthday.

jonah turned three on march 6, 2014.  it's hard to believe that my baby is three years old!  usually, i would have another one year old by this time but i don't (thankgoodness) and so we are all having so much fun enjoying jonah as our "baby" of the family.  he get's lots of attention whether he likes it or not.

he was so excited for his birthday and kept telling me that he wanted a chocolate cake and guitar for his "birday".  he got all those things plus he woke up to brand new teepee and a room filled with balloons. jonah and eden had fun all morning playing with all the balloons and running in and out of the teepee.  it was a good day that ended with presents and cake and family.

i am so thankful to have this little boy in my life.  he is such a funny kid and makes me laugh everyday.  everyone says he is a mini jason and even though i don't see it, it must be so because literally everyone says it.  he loves tractors, trains, and cars.  his favorite shows are team umizoomi and peppa pig.  his best friend is simon. his favorite conversation is to ask me where his dad is, and then he will ask where ava is, and then jack, and he will go through the whole faimly and then an hour later he will ask me all over again.  i tell him daddy is at work, ava is at school, jack is at school, papa is at work, nana is at home and so forth.  then he will smile and say "oh" and walks away.  it's pretty funny how he never tires of it.  but i seriously love this kid so much and so glad he's mine.

jonah's birthday party.

we had a quiet little family party to celebrate jonah turning two (which was over two weeks ago but thanks to nursing school i am falling behind on the blogging thing).  i made him a chocolate cake with chocolate sprinkles that he kind of sort of picked out.  it turns out that he isn't even much of a cake fan.  all he wanted was ice cream. he thoroughly enjoys that stuff.  i think he ate his weight in ice cream which we let him because he was the birthday boy.  he really likes trucks, books, trains, and pirates.  so he got book about a blue truck and train set that winds through a pirate ship.  oh, and a plasma car that has boyish colors.  he kept stealing his sisters' that are pink and yellow.  now, he can ride around in his stylish boy looking one.  (yay.)  happy birthday jones! (again.)

my little 2 year old.

these past two years went by waaaay too fast.  words cannot express how much joy this little guy brings to my life each and every day.  he is so full of personality and is all boy.  he loves trains and cars and balls.  he would live outside if i let him.  in fact, one of his favorite words is outside.  he is obsessed with his "toons" which primarily consist of diego, team umizoomi, and bubble guppies.  he loves to make animal sounds.  he has a fit if he is wearing shoes and i try to take them off even when i am trying to lay him down for his nap.  sometimes i let him sleep with his shoes on because its not worth making him all upset.  his smile is so big and i am in love with his bluish grey eyes and long long eyelashes.  he's the only one in the family with blue eyes!  his brother and sisters love him so much, sometimes too much and he tries to push them away.  what can i say, we just can't get enough of jonah! he is the perfect (final) edition to our little family.  happy two years jonah!

jonah, you are the cutest.

i can't believe this boy, sometimes.  he is my first kid to actually wear hat longer than 5 seconds.  some days he will wear it for hours.  it doesn't matter if he is outside playing, riding in the car or sitting and eating dinner (like he did in the pictures above).  he is getting to where he likes to have his picture taken too.  can you tell?

i start nursing school next week and these past couple of weeks it has hit me really hard that i won't be getting to spend as much time with my kids as i am used to.  especially time with jonah.  he is my baby and all my other kids got their mom up until it was time to send them off to preschool and regular school.  i feel a little guilty that i am robbing him of this time.  and it doesn't help when he does cute things like wear his knit pom pom hat all through dinner and then stops to pose for some pictures.  he melts my heart.  i just hope he knows how much i love him and how much i'm going to miss him while i am away at school and studying.

jonah and the christmas tree.

jonah seems to be very fascinated with the christmas tree.  especially the shiny balls that are hanging from it.  apparently, he thinks they are bouncy balls and he tries to bounce them off the hardwood floor.  well, that obviously doesn't work and soon we aren't going to have anymore ball ornaments left on the bottom half of our tree.  did i mention that he thinks its very funny too?  not funny, jonah. not funny.
