eden finally got her first toof!
i swear she has been trying to cut this thing for months now.
but it has finally arrived.
and she even survived me sticking my fingers in her mouth to get a picture of it.

the electric tape and the bees

i have this little bee problem.
i have actually had this problem for a couple of years now.
so, i thought i would be smart and take care of the problem.

the problem:
bees crawl up into these little holes under my patio table and do their business.
i'm not exactly sure what their business is but they need to take it eslewhere.

the solution:
i thought i would be so smart and put electric tape over their little holes.
that should do the trick, right?
c'mon a bee shouldn't be able to chew through electric tape.

the next day.........

well, they can.
and they did.
HOLY SMOKES!
BEES CAN DO THAT.

i just KNOW that little bee is laughing at me.
you may have won the battle, little bees, but you havn't won the war.
it is so on.

christmas in june

when it's 110 degrees outside, what do we do?
decorate a christmas tree, of course.

i know, sounds like a perfect summer activity.
and what's better than a tree decorated with:
cinderella dresses, mater and lightning mcqueen, a carrot, some palm trees,
and a game piece from candyland.

merry christmas ya'll.

lucky

i was so lucky to grow up with a super duper dad who i looked up to and still admire to this day. i was also soooo lucky to marry the sweetest guy ever who loves his children to pieces. he basically is the best dad. jack and ava wait all day for him to get home from work and eden's face lights up when he walks through the door. he feels the same way. he can't wait to be home playing with his kids. we so love you daddy-o.

this year i decided to make jason a book with pictures of him and the kids from the past year. i stayed up until after midnight making it so he would have it in the morning while eating his breakfast in bed. well, i was so tired from staying up so late that i didn't hear eden crying in the morning. jason did and he still got up with her and let me sleep. i felt so bad but like i said i am the luckiest girl out there. he will still get up with the kids even on father's day when i am supposed to be treating him like a king.

what a guy.

so by the time i rolled out of bed, i apologized for the lack of love on father's day and told him how much i appreciated him and gave him the father's day book that had kept me up all night (along with baking the homemade breakfast cinnamon rolls that never made it to his bedside).

here it is:

jack had made him a special card with drawings and all. inside were two tickets to the movies for him and his dad. he is so excited to take his dad out on the town.
thanks
for
being
the
best
dad.
(and husband).
xoxo

(**the moral of this story is...  don't procrastinate on making your father's day gift, that way  you can wake up and   greet your husband with a delicious breakfast in bed.)

booby trap

apparently, this is supposed to stop "bad guys" from coming into our house. while i was working hard, as i do, on my computer, jack was working hard, at what he does...  making booby traps.

when i came upstairs and looked out our kitchen window, this is what i found. some q-tips, some left over milk from the breakfast cereal, some left over cereal, and of course, a whole banana smooshed on the driveway. i guess a bad guy is going to slip and fall and never be able to recover to crawl up through our window.

who needs a security system when you have jack's booby traps to keep you safe.

cheeks

me: hey jack, you have really big cheeks, you know that?

jack: is it because i'm growing so much?

me: no. you just have really big cheeks.

jack: ohhhh. it's because they are almost five year old cheeks.

you know you have big cheeks when you smile
and you can no longer see out of your eyes
because your cheeks are in the way.
