christmas disney style

there is nothing like christmas time at disneyland.
everything is more magical than usual and the decorations are exquisite.
it even snows at night, just after the fireworks show.
and "its a small world" is worth seeing a thousand times over.

*on a side note, this has been one of the craziest holiday seasons ever between making decorations for the ward christmas party, birthdays, dance recitals, mid terms, school programs, making cinnamon rolls, getting my wisdom teeth out, christmas shopping, jason getting sooo sick, family christmas parties, a trip to disneyland.... blah blah blah.
but the most important thing is remembering the birth of our savior, jesus christ.

this almost sounds like a christmas card.... let's just say it is since i never got to around to it this year.

merry christmas to all and happy new year!
love, the breinholts

its beginning to look a lot like x-mas...

...now that we have a christmas tree.

this past weekend we traveled far and wide for our christmas tree.
actually, it was only to our local home depot.
and jack picked our tree out because he thought it looked the "cheapest".
i guess my bargain shopping is paying off.

jack was pretty excited about getting a tree.

my burly man throwing that tree up on one shoulder and showing us who's da boss.

right now that burly man is very sick.
double ear infections and strep throat.
i feel so bad for him.

at least he has the wonderful smell of christmas tree to take in as he lies on the couch in
misery.

birthday #1

eden turned the big 1.
she did it in style, i might add.
no clothes, a diaper, and a party hat.

what else do you need when you're one.
besides a cake to shove your hands and face in.

happy birthday eden.

thanksgiving morning turkey trot

we are thankful for our bodies.

ava: 2 laps

jack: 4 laps

jason: 6 laps

me: 8 laps

eden: watched a total of 20 laps
while chowing down own fish crackers.

it was a refreshing start to a thanksgiving day.

what is love...

...i'll tell you what love is.
love is when your sweet husband joins you for a midnight showing of a romantic vampire movie
along with a couple hundred teeny boppers screaming "team jacob" and wearing
homemade twilight shirts.
did i mention it was a sequel and he had never seen the first one so he was also completely lost through the entire thing.
normally, i would not have gone to the premiere showing of this type of movie but thanks to an early birthday present from my thoughtful parents there i was,  sitting next to my best friend in the whole world at 12:01 am in a dark theater watching vampires on the big screen.

and, yes, it was way better than the first one.

halloween 2009

jack is peter pan, if you were wondering.
apparently, everyone thought he was robin hood.
he didn't like that too much.
jack and bailee.

our trick or treating transportation.

let the sorting begin.

my favorite thing to do when i got home from trick-or-treating was sorting all my candy
and then the trading would come into play.
my brother and i would spend hours analyzing our candy and trading back and forth.
jack is really into that too.
i think we are a lot alike.

halloween treats

i'm feeling very halloweenish.
today has been a very "fallish" day with gloomy skies.
even the morning air was crisp and cold.
and the trees have been blowing all day long.

i just want to trap myself in my kitchen and go to town on making festive treats.
here is a bit of what i'm thinking.

the light rail experience

last night, we went on a little adventure.
that is, we rode the light rail into phoenix.
we ate some yummy mexican food and a lot of it.
a lot of chips and salsa, mostly.

then, we hopped back on the train, and rode back into the east valley.
the kids had fun watching all the "different kinds" of people come aboard.
which includes the two cross dressers who were extremely weird.
but then again, i don't think i know of any cross dressers who aren't weird.

my sister kayda and ava.

jack, jeremy, kayda.

my parents.

my younger brother garrett, my sister meghan, and eden.
(and some poor shmuch who's trying to study.)

it was grand old time.
