It's been a while...

since my poor running shoes have really been used the way
 they were meant to be.
I know I have neglected you these
past couple of months, dear shoes, but I promise
we will be back on the streets in no time.
No more stair climber or what seems to be a leisurely walk on the treadmill.
**I can hardly wait.

projects and nesting

With 3 weeks left and counting (and hopefully less)
the projects are piling up. I guess you could say I am keeping the husband busy.
Here's the list:

1. Moving the kids rooms downstairs.
This includes painting, wainscoating, new baseboard, and new flooring.

2. Moving Jason's office upstairs...away from TOYS!
3. Cleaning out rooms and moving furniture.

4. Finishing painting baseboard upstairs from 2 years ago.

5. My everyday chores:  laundry, cleaning up toys, dishes, doing my office stuff...yikes.

6. Start and finish Christmas shopping.

7. Organize nursery after I move out Ava's stuff.

8. Make my office more suitable for me.

9.  Remind my husband how much I love him.

10.  For heavens sake, have this baby and decide on a name... poor girl.

**these are just to name a few.

the E.R.

My poor Jack-a-Roo has been up the last two nights with massive stomach issues.
At first we thought maybe he was faking it or just being irritable.
Finally he told his stomach hurt but we figured it would just go away.  nope.
After the second night of being restless and crying and grabbing his stomach we decided maybe he needed a visit to the E.R.
My sweet husband graciously said he would take him so I could sleep.
So, at two in the morning he scooped Jack up and headed to everyones favorite place.
The E.R.
Three hours later they returned.
The only conclusion was that it was probably stomach gas.
All Jason could say was that it was the saddest thing to have to watch his little 4 year old boy have to lay there while the nurses tried to take his blood and put his IV in.
I could only imagine.
I am just thankful that it wasn't anything too serious like his appendix bursting or some weird freekish stomach virus or worse.
I wouldn't know what I would do without my little guy.

HaLLoWeeN MeMoRIeS

what can I say? we went trick or treating and had a good ol' time.

first we had a delicious dinner of homemade chili.

then into the costumes.

ava actually kept her wig on most of the night which surprised us all.

she started eating her candy from the ward trunk or treat from the night before which did not surprise us at all, before we even started trick or treating.

never mind the old lady he almost chased us down on our golf cart and gave us a dirty look for having jack riding on the back by himself even though jason was holding on to him.

everyone kept asking me if i made my kids costumes.  just had to laugh since i don't know the first thing about sewing.  it was a nice thought though.

ava made us all laugh when she got a toothbrush in her bag and exclaimed, "woo hoo."

ava made us laugh again when the creepy scary man handing out candy scared her so bad that she wouldn't even get close to him but with quivering lips, blew him kisses instead and then said "bye friend" as she walked away.

at one point, jack's bag got so heavy that he couldn't hold it by the handle anymore but had to cradle it with both hands and still wanted more candy.

thanks to dark yards and people who don't pass out candy, jack had a place to quickly relieve himself and resume trick or treating without skipping a beat.

went to my parents house for halloween party where my little brother smeared cupcake all over jack's face and inside his ear and all over his costume.  not funny.

went to a cousin's haunted house which was awesome.  good job allen's.

drove home around 11:30 pm with two sleeping kids recovering from a night of partying and an overdose of sugar.

*this is what halloween is all about.
