halloween 2010

halloween was on a sunday this year.
which means the day was probably just like a lot of other lds families.
we went to church, watched some football, carved pumpkins, and then got our kids all dressed
in their costumes only to tell them that instead of trick or treating this year,
they get to pass out candy.
sounds fun, right??
i guess getting candy doesn't compare to giving it away.
but, the nice/felling bad for our kids parents we are, we broke down and still let them do some trick or treating on our street.
it didn't help that, ironically, our sacrament meeting topic was on keeping the sabbath day holy.
whatev, the kids still had, we had fun, and another halloween goes down in the record books.

pumpkin carving on the back patio.

the costumed:
jessie #1 , captain hook (not to be confused with captain jack sparrow), and jessie #2

the jessie's heading out the door.

hope everyone had a happy halloween :)

our magical moments and memories:

eden's little obsession.

we went all the way to disneyland to hang out in a red phone booth for an hour.
who would've thought.
the end.

*if you guessed the theme of our trip was jessie the yodeling cow girl....you were right on :)

halloween spirit

nothing says halloween like a black tongue....

...and decorating cut out sugar cookies shaped as pumpkins, ghosts and scary cats.

the masterpieces.

now, i have to go force myself to drink my weight in water so i can have an ultrasound that will
reveal the gender of my mystery baby growing in my belly :)
can't wait. to find out the sex that is, not to drink a gallon of water.

then, we are off to disneyland for yet another magical adventure.
this time, the kids get to parade through the streets of disneyland in their costumes
while collecting candy from costumed characters.
lets just say that the kids are about to explode with excitement.
they have been walking around the house wearing their mickey mouse ears
for the past couple of days now.
i think they are ready to gooooooo.
see ya all laters.

october showers

it's always a joyous time when in rains here in the desert.
we have had such horrible record breaking heat that i had pretty much lost all hope of ever getting out of the one hundred degrees.
lately, i have been yearning to live somewhere where they have 4 seasons.
what would that be like?
but, i have to say, there is nothing like rain and thunderstorms after a five month summer to help cool things down.
jack could hardly contain himself when he got home from school yesterday.
first thing he did was he tore off his shoes and socks and headed outside to run through the rain and puddles.
ava thought she would join him as well.
and, let me tell you, dancing in rain puddles is way more fun in a sequined flapper dress.

jack and ava showing off the raindrops on their clothes.

we have been so lucky to have rain the last 3 out of 4 days.
i just hope it sticks around for a little while longer.
highs in the 80's is my kind of weather :)

*ava and i also heard one of the longest and loudest claps of thunder known to man.
it was loud.
it like shook the whole house.
sooo octoberish.

ava's birthday party

ava turned 4.
she loves jessie from toy story. she has for like 2 years now.
so, she wanted a cowgirl birthday party.
and that's what she got.

the party goers decorated paper bag cowgirl vests.

they made carmel apples dipped in m&ms, chocolate chips and heath bar chunks.
they were quite yummy.

sunflower centerpiece.

mason jars filled with cowgirl goodies.

her guests sipped on IBC root beers and ate chocolate cake.

ava's birthday highlights:
getting to dress up like jessie.
dancing to the hoedown throwdown song a gazillion times.
blowing out her candles.
getting two new dance outfits.
playing the rattlesnack hot potato game.
and of course, being the center of attention ;)

eden's new wardrobe

i was scrolling through pictures on my camera and came across some ones with eden as naked as a jay bird riding ava's bike.
every now and then, jason grabs the camera and captures some pretty hilarious events that i get to laugh at days later.

right now, eden is sort of going through a naked stage.
i have to put her diaper back on and redress her at least 30 times a day.
it's pretty ridiculous.
but, in her defense, it is the end of september and still a 105 degress outside, so if i could get away with running around naked anywhere and everywhere, i would do it to.
i just hope she grows out of it soon and i don't find her living in a nudest colony in 20 years.
gross.
let's face it, babies are way cuter naked than old people.
sorry for the visual.

oh baby!

little miss eden is trying to put a diaper on her baby.
it's a good thing she is practing because come march she is going to be a big sister.
that would equate to....
i am pregnant and having a baby this spring ;)

i feel like i can finally blog again without feeling like i am going to vomit all over the place.
so far, i am following the boy pattern pregnancy but i guess i will have to wait a couple of more weeks to confirm if that is true or not.
at least, i can finally get my butt off the couch now and start showing my kids a little attention.
i think they thought they lost thier mom there for a while.
well, technically they did.
but thanks to mr. mom jason, they were well taken care of.
i love love my husband :)
