pumpkins and cats and ghosts, oh my

Jack and Ava had tons of fun cutting out halloween shapes and eating the left over sugar cookie dough.  Then Jack looked to his creative side and decorated most of the cookies himself.  Pouring on the sprinkles was his favorite part.  Ava got to take a nap during this part.

After they were all decorated, Jack took plates of cookies to all of his friends.  He was so excited.  Although, he was a little confused.  He thought he was actually selling them to his friends rather than just giving them away.  Some day he may realize that selling and giving are two different things.  But for now, he loves "selling" things to people.

gaining a little confidence

Yesterday Jason and I were sitting on the couch talking while Jack was running around the room playing.  He happened to be throwing his shirt in the air and watching it fall.  Then, one time he threw it pretty high and it got stuck on a high shelf.  He instantly wanted one of us to get it down.  Much to my surprise, Jason tells him to climb up and get it himself.  Wait a minute, are you supposed to be telling your kids to climb up things in the house.  I guess so.  In this case, Jack who isn't very confident in these types of situations,  attempted several times to climb the cubby shelves and after a few tries, with a big smile on his face, achieved his goal. I guess gaining self assurance is worth the idea that now he probably thinks its okay to climb anything he wants in the house.

the sweetest guy

I don't know if many mothers can forget the last couple of weeks of being pregnant, but they are pretty much miserable.  Not only do you feel huge (yes, I feel huge even though many don't say I look it, just less room for an already over active baby to move around) but also, you are so sick of trying to find something new and different in your closet to fit over a growing belly that seems to get bigger everyday.  Usually, I just end up in an old pair of sweat pants and an oversized t-shirt. I know I must be simply irresistable to my husband.  Surprisingly, the gem that he is, he always manages to tell me I look awesome and beautiful and that he actually loves my pregnant belly.

Besides looking big and never having anything cute to wear, the night situation is probably the worst part of it.  I probably toss and turn a hundred times trying to find the most somewhat comfortable position to sleep in and then an hour later I'll finally fall asleep.  By this time, my body is already waking me up again to tell me I need to go to the bathroom and then its back in bed to start the whole process all over again.  By morning, I havn't accumulated much sleep.  Thanks to my loving husband, who never complains, he willfully gets up with the kids and takes care of their breakfast and all other morning needs.  Also, if there are any problems in the night, he takes care of those too.  He never makes me feel guilty either.  I don't know what I would do without him, but I am indeed thankful for all he does.  I honestly could go on forever on what great husband and dad he is but I might have to save that for another day.  Just want him to know how much I love and appreciate him.

a disney halloween

We decided to take the kids to disneyland for a fun filled halloween time and that is exactly what we got.  Between riding rides, doing halloween crafts, seeing the characters all dressed up, and getting to trick or treat at the happiest place on earth, i think we may have started a new family tradition.

Sunday morning breakfast

Since this was one of the few Sundays the husband didn't have meetings and since we are so lucky that we don't have to go to church until 2pm, we took full advantage of the situation and had ourselves a delicious homemade breakfast.  Even the syrup was made from scratch.

The Breakfast:

We totally enjoyed ourselves.

Finally

At around four or five in the afternoon the kids have been finding their way into the backyard.

I guess that means that it's finally cooling off and I am loving it!  I am loving the cool mornings

(even though I am still asleep most of the time to actually enjoy it.  I'll have to work on that.)

and evenings and that my kids want to go outside to play and that they can go outside without

the bright red cheeks 10 seconds later accompanied by a heat stroke.

Gotta love AZ.  And of course two happy playing kids.
