first year in the derby and jack had the winning car.  jason, of course, waited until the night before and the morning of to do most of the car building but he seems to do his best work under pressure.  jack also put some of his own touches and suggestions into his car and was by his dad's side during the whole construction.  i was so proud of these two. my little dream team, as i like to call them.  the only problem is now jack is going to expect to win every year and that is not likely. i think we may of had some beginners luck on our side.  sometimes losing can be humbling and jack may need a lesson or two in that department.  so maybe a loss in the future might not be such a bad thing either.  although, i was glad that he had a good experience with it this year so next year he will be excited for it too.

who knew a baby brother would come in handy?  i'm sure ava and eden didn't realize that their little brother would actually be fun to play with.  or be so willing to sit in a doll high chair and be forced fed fake wooden food.  i was really surprised to see how much he was enjoying it all.  i'm not kidding, i think he sat there for at least 15 minutes as his sisters prepared meals for him and danced around their little kitchen in their swimsuits.  to be honest, i think he was loving all the attention.  (speaking of baby, i can't believe my little guy is only going to be a baby for another a month. these two years went by so fast!)

children's museum of phoenix.

we took a road trip to phoenix this past monday and by road trip i mean a 25 minute car ride to downtown.  the kids had the day off so we thought we it would be good day to go explore the children's museum.  it's such a cool place and i love how it's inside an old elementary school building.  i feel like there aren't very many historical buildings with character around here so this little gem is a nice change of scenery.  our kids were nonstop busy for 2 hours straight and we would've stayed longer but jonah was starting to have some major meltdowns and was in need of that thing called a nap.  so, our visit was cut a little short but that's just what happens when you have an almost 2 year old.  they make your life revolve around them.  but we love him anyway :)
