mother's day.

mother's day 2013.

since father's day is just a few days away, i thought i better get my mother's day post done.  i can't believe mother's day was over a month ago.  time flies.  i am such a lucky mom.  i have the best kids and they make me feel loved each and every day.  they have put up with a pretty crazy mom these past three and half months while i've been in nursing school.  and you know what, even though i haven't been mom of the year and even had to neglect them a time or two to study for a test, they still love me unconditionally.  that's pretty incredible.  they are why i love being a mom.  they make me want to be a better person and i just hope that in return i can love them back and be the best example to them that i can be.

on mother's day, they gave me the most awesome homemade cards and gifts.  they also said some very kind things to me that put a smile on my face.  seriously, these kids make my day and life would be pretty miserable without them...even though i do wish some days they could magically disappear for a few hours so i can clean my house but i know one of these days when they are all grown up and off living their own lives, i will be wishing they were back in my house making messes and running around like a bunch of crazies.

swimming at the diamondbacks game.

take me out to the ball game.... as long as a swimming pool is involved right on the outfield with endless amounts of hot dogs and drinks.  ummmmm i've decided this is the best way to watch a baseball game especially when you have kids.

we were lucky enough to have the chance to swim in the diamondbacks swimming pool for a night thanks to jason's work for renting it out for the evening.  my kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.  they literally swam for six hours straight only to take food and bathroom breaks.  it was pretty amazing.  and to top it off, they were on national tv for a couple of seconds.  jack now thinks he is famous.  we had such an incredible night.  i have to say, we will remember this one forever.  thanks academy mortgage!!

my handsome boy and his school program.

jack sure does clean up nice.  he is so handsome and he picked his red, white and blue outfit out the night before because he was so excited for his program.  he could've worn his boy scout shirt but he was very set on wearing a tie.

i've seen a lot of school programs thus far,  but this one was my favorite hands down.  jack actually sang and did actions and even had a speaking part.  i was very impressed with his performance.  hopefully he is turning a new leaf when it comes to showing off his stuff in front of large crowds.  he still says he wants to act and be in a singer so this is a step in the right direction. we will see how his summer guitar lessons go!

one more year down of school programs!

ava and her school program.

little miss ava had her school program a few weeks back.  the theme was america.  so, yes, lots of red, white, and blue.  i was able to sneak away from class during my lunch break to come and watch her.  she was so surprised to see me there cause i didn't think i was going to be able to make it.  she felt like a lucky girl, having both her mom and dad there to watch her.  as usual, a very cute program with lots of singing and props. ava always does her best in everything and this was no exception.  she can be quite the little performer when she wants to be.

we stopped by her class before leaving to check our some of her masterpieces and then we took her out for a second lunch cause mom and dad were hungry.  it was a great afternoon, hanging out with ava!
