from the top of the empire state building.

jason and i spent our 10th wedding anniversary in our most favorite city ever...new york city.  let me just say, it was glorious.  no kids for five days! (although, every time i say a baby or little kid go by, it made me miss mine that much more.)  we did whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. that was probably the best part.  no schedules.  we celebrated our actual wedding day (may 17) taking in the views from the top of the empire state building.  you don't realize just how big this city is until you are high enough to see it from all sides.  what a magnificent place.  i sure wish there was somehow i could transplant my family into one of those cute little apartments on the upper west side... i think that would be pretty ideal :)

mother's day 2012

mother's day was pretty perfect this year.  i was surprised with breakfast in bed, a new rocking chair to rock in while reading stories to my kids, and my favorite, homemade personalized gifts from jack and ava.  i am so blessed to have four healthy beautiful children.  i thank my father in heaven for them every day.  i have to say, motherhood is the most challenging and unpredictable job ever but it's the most rewarding and i wouldn't trade it for anything.  happy mother's day to all the mom's out there and especially to my mom and my husband's mother who gave life to wonderful man :)

sandbox buddies

i went out in the backyard yesterday morning to find my two youngest playing in the sandbox together.

i think eden was making sand cakes while jonah was trying to eat them.

when he realized they didn't taste very good, he was out of there, off to explore the rest of the yard.

thank goodness, eden wasn't offended by his deliberate snub :)

we love our dentist...

...but we don't love the magic toothbrush that makes our teeth sparkly white or the foamy white stuff that we have to leave in our mouth for a long time.

my kids are lucky to have a papa who lets them play around in his office and pretend that they are dentists for a day.

although, if eden could, i think she would skip out on the whole experience all together.

however, i am happy to report that my kiddos had no cavities. yay!

eden and the rain

we get pretty excited around here when it rains.

even if it's for only 30 minutes.

after all, we do live in a desert. 

we love you rain, come again another day!
